When it comes to selling interior decoration items to consumers, the emphasis has long been placed on experience and perception. These days, though, the task of retail outlets is not just to provide space to display goods for people to buy, but also to take the shopper on a journey along an inspirational stream of interior trends.
This type of perception and shopping experience is often lacking in big department stores and with suppliers. Yet market research* tells us that 86% of professionals who purchase items for interiors believe that there is an acute shortage of inspiring places for people to go and buy things.

In total, there is space for the collections of around 150 exhibitors (importers, manufacturers, designers, etc.) in the Home and Living Cash & Carry space.
New items will be added to the displays every day, while visitors will be able to see presentations of all the latest interior trends each month.
For visitors, the centre will feel like a whole collection of shops-within-shops for retail outlets – places where they can enjoy a constant stream of fresh inspiration, as well as make the purchases they want.
Best-ever service for visitors
Brouns believes that the best thing about the Home and Living concept is the service offered to visiting trade professionals:
"They can buy everything that they see in the display space and take it with them immediately from stock. Or, if they want, they can also have items delivered to the address of their choice.
Our aim is to go one step further in providing service to our trade customers. For example, visiting the Cash & Carry Centre will not be dependent on a minimum purchase amount. Every item can also be bought individually."
The rationale behind the new approach is to appeal to a broad professional target audience from the trade. Not just retailers, but also hospitality outlet operators, project developers, interior designers, stylists, young entrepreneurs and so on. They will all find everything they need for their purchases of interior items when they come to Home and Living Cash & Carry.

Exhibitors at the Home and Living Cash & Carry space can also opt for an easy and extended service package, because all they have to do is come along, dress their stands and deliver the goods.
Everything else is taken care of by the Cash & Carry team, who will unpack the goods, put the right labels on all the items and keep stock levels at the stands up to the mark.
Stallholders can also rely on Home and Living Cash & Carry to take care of things when it comes to buyers paying for goods through the centralised cash registers. In fact, as an exhibitors you receive a daily update of your sales figures.
And total cashflow is totted up on a weekly basis so that there are never any unpleasant surprises for anyone.
